Welcome to independence for ME, the answer to your
search for a Social Security Disability Representative.

My name is Susan Vatcher. My goal is to provide each and every client with outstanding customer service. Your claim is important. You are important.

No one wants to be “disabled” or dependent on a disability benefit in order to survive. However, bad things happen to good people, usually when we least expect it. I understand that. I know it has a huge impact on your lifestyle. When I accept your case, I will explain in real terms how the process works, the timeframe involved, and what needs to be done to win your Social Security disability claim. No matter what stage your claim is at, I am prepared to represent you and will always look out for your best interests. I will continue to assist you after the favorable decision issues, helping to make sure that you and your family are paid in a timely manner.

Social Security disability claims are very stressful for individuals and their families. I hope to make your experience of filing for Social Security disability as stress-free as possible. I will help you navigate the system and keep you informed during the entire process. My approach is very down to earth: I am extremely empathetic while still keeping a watchful eye on the ultimate expected result, a favorable decision. I believe that most people want someone they can communicate with and feel comfortable talking to. I am that person, and independence for ME is the company for you!

MY QUALIFICATIONS

I started my business in early 2016 on a part-time basis while still working for Attorney Michael Bell. I had been working in the Social Security Disability field since 1987. Attorney Bell retired on October 31, 2018, and I am now enjoying working for myself full-time. I have years of experience assisting individuals just like you that need representation in order to get the benefits that you deserve based on the severity of your conditions: physical, emotional, or both. I was required by the SSA to take an examination in order to be certified for direct pay. I passed that exam in May 2016. The exam tests the knowledge and skill level of non-attorney representatives. Being certified as an EDPNA (Eligible for Direct Pay Non Attorney)means my fee is withheld from your past-due benefits. That saves you from having to determine how much out of your past-due benefits you need to hold out for payment of the fee.
You might be asking yourself, “Why go with a Non-Attorney Representative instead of an attorney?” If so, be sure to check this out!

MY SERVICES

I am experienced in all aspects of Social Security disability, including SSDI, SSI, Child SSI, Widow’s Disability, and Cessation claims, having interviewed and assisted individuals with:
  • filing applications and appeals online;
  • obtaining specific information about one’s claim, including benefit amounts for both the individual and family members and, if applicable, offset caused by workers’ compensation or a MainePERS benefit;
  • working with the local Social Security office to help answer any non-disability questions, and the State agency that performs the medical review at the first two levels;
  • requesting medical and/or vocational records that are missing from the record;
  • researching any out of the ordinary issues;
  • organizing, reviewing, and submitting evidence;
  • preparing a comprehensive, organized pre-hearing brief to the Administrative Law Judge assigned to the case and representing you in front of the Judge at hearing; and
  • communicating with the local Social Security office and the Payment Centers that process your benefits after you win.
